As we look towards October for our Annual Meeting of the US DOHaD Society, we’re thrilled to share more about our keynote speakers who will be sharing their latest research and insights. To see all of our keynote speakers and their presentation schedules, visit our Annual Meetings page. Today, we wanted to highlight two of our speakers:

Dorothy Nakiwala, PhD, is an Assistant Professor for the Center for Lifecourse Epidemiology of Adiposity and Diabetes (LEAD) Center at the University of Colorado. Her research interests lie in the effects of prenatal exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and other endocrine disruptors on development. Projects at the LEAD Center are supported by the ECHO program and has recently received an award to further study the effects of environmental exposures on pregnant people along with continued research of the Healthy Start Study. She will present her work during the Developmental Impacts of Toxicant Exposures Session to kick off the first scientific session of the Annual Meeting on October 15th.
John Colombo, PhD, is a Professor of Psychology, Director of the Schiefelbusch Institute for Life Span Studies, and Interim Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Kansas. His research evaluates the effect of nutrients and micronutrients on the development of cognitive function in infancy and early childhood. His study of developmental differences in attention gives us insight into the long-term developmental outcomes in typically-developing and at-risk populations of infants, toddlers, and children. His keynote presentation will be during the Early Nutrition and Developmental Outcomes Session on October 15th.
