As we look towards October for our Annual Meeting of the US DOHaD Society, we’re thrilled to share more about our keynote speakers who will be sharing their latest research and insights. To see all of our keynote speakers and their presentation schedules, visit our Annual Meetings page. Today, we wanted to highlight two of our speakers:
Chris Kuzawa, PhD is a professor of Anthropology and faculty fellow at the Institute for Policy Research at Northwestern University. His research unites anthropology and evolutionary biology to learn more about the long-term and intergenerational impacts of early life environments on male reproduction, cardiovascular disease risk, and immunity. His research also engages him beyond academia to study and develop programs for addressing health disparities, especially for reparations to Black Americans, as the co-director of the Health Inequality Network of the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Working Group. He will be presenting our final session, Maximizing Translational Impact of DOHaD Research, on October 16th.
Rosalind Wright, MD, MPH is a professor in Pediatrics, Environmental Medicine, and Artificial Intelligence and Human Health, Dean for Public Health and Translational Biomedical Research, the founding Co-Director of the Institute for Climate Change, Environmental Health, and Expososmic Research, and Director of Conduits, the Clinical and Translational Science Award, at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Wright’s primary research interests focus on how both social and physician environmental factors contribute to health disparities and long-term risk for diseases like asthma, obesity, neurobehavioral development, and lung growth and development. You’ll be able to learn more about her work in the Developmental Impacts of Toxicant Exposures Session on October 15th.
